God wants us to be holy and self-controlled, but He also wants us to be kind and welcoming; God wants us to be nice! If you believe in Jesus Christ, you will have eternal life. But we shouldn’t just be satisfied with going to heaven ourselves; we need to share the good news of Jesus Christ so that we can bring as many people with us to heaven as possible! If we as Christians are unkind, unwelcoming, and even “unfun”, why would we expect anyone to want to join us? We must absolutely avoid sinning in the name of being nice or friendly, but we need to make sure that we are making every effort to add to our faith brotherly kindness.
Bible Verses:
- 2 Peter 1:3-11 – Add to your faith
- Romans 12:10 – Love one another
- Galatians 6:10 – Do good to everyone
- 1 Peter 4:9 – Show hospitality
Family Time Questions:
- Does brotherly kindness get you into heaven?
- What happens when we lack brotherly kindness?
- Why should we add brotherly kindness to our faith?
- How can we show others brotherly kindness?
Prayer:
“Dear God, thank You for Your incredible kindness towards us. Please help us to share that love with others. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
