The Bible is God’s word. That means that everything in Scripture is written exactly how God intended. He inspired many men over a long period of time to write what we know as the Bible today. It’s all useful and it’s all important!
Many of the Bible passages that people don’t like come from either the Apostle Paul or the Old Testament. So they try to dismiss them. They might say, “Well, maybe this part of the Bible isn’t really important” or “Did God really say this? Or was it just Paul (or Moses or whoever wrote the passage we don’t like)?” And to a certain extent, I think we all do this. We end up trying to adjust Scripture to fit our lives so that “what God says” will match with whatever the rest of the world is telling us. Instead, we need to adjust our lives to fit what we find in God’s word. All Scripture is God-breathed!
“All Scripture Is God-Breathed” Bible Verses:
- 2 Timothy 3:16-17 | All Scripture is God-breathed.
- Matthew 5:17 | Jesus did not come to get rid of the Law (Old Testament).
- 2 Peter 3:16 | Peter tells how some people twist what Paul wrote.
- Genesis 3:1 | Satan’s first words in the Bible.
- Romans 12:2 | Adjust your life to God’s will, not to the world’s ways.
“All Scripture Is God-Breathed” Family Time Questions:
• What does it mean that Scripture is God-breathed?
• How much of the Bible is God-breathed?
• Are there parts of the Bible that we can skip?
• What should we do if we find a passage in Scripture that goes against what we believe?
Prayer:
Dear God, thank you for sending us the Bible. Please help me to learn what it says and adjust my life to fit your Truth. In Jesus’ name Amen.
